Although this is not a race we now keep track of times for those that want to compete against their time the year before.
History of event: In 1988 a small group of athletes embarked on a New Years Day run only to be thwarted by the Madisonville bridge mechanical malfunction. Frustration and a cold northern wind forced a call to action. The group swam the Tchefuncte River, fighting hypothermia and refusing to be impreded by any obstacle, even 49 degrees water. Hence, the Ice Man Dip & Dash was born. $30 registration.
